Our Most Anticipated North Carolina Movies of 2013
The new year has dawned, and 2013 promises to be an exciting one for us here at NCHollywood.com, as five high profile projects filmed in North Carolina are set to arrive in theaters, with many more that are completed and awaiting a release date also expected to open this year.

Most Anticipated NC-Filmed Movies of 2013
01. Safe Haven (Feb. 14, 2013)
Based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, a young woman (Julianne Hough) with a mysterious past lands in Southport, North Carolina where her bond with a widower (Josh Duhamel) forces her to confront the dark secret that haunts her. Also starring Revolution‘s David Lyons and The Avengers‘ Cobie Smulders.
02. Iron Man 3 (May 3, 2013)
Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) uses his ingenuity to fight those who destroyed his private world and soon goes up against his most powerful enemy yet: the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley), in Disney and Marvel’s highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster superhero franchise, also starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Jon Favreau.
03. The Conjuring (July 19, 2013)
The true story of a family’s encounters with spirits living among them in their New England farmhouse, and the real life paranormal investigators they hired to help them, from director James Wan (Saw, Insidious).
04. We’re the Millers (August 9, 2013)
A veteran pot dealer (Jason Sudeikis) creates a fake family (including stripper Jennifer Aniston and Emma Roberts) as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of weed into the U.S. from Mexico.
05. The Devil’s Rapture (October 11, 2013)
On the eve of their 18th birthday, six girls born on the same day to different mothers are mysteriously disappearing one by one and feared dead. Terror has overtaken this quiet community. Could this be the work of a serial killer, one of the village elders or a horrific prophecy come true, born of the supernatural, The Occult?

06. Jessabelle (TBD 2013)
A girl is forced to return to her father’s home in Louisiana when a car accident leaves her without the use of both her legs. What she finds there is a mystery surrounding her own birth and an angry ghost (named Jessabelle) that seems determined to destroy her.
07. Stuck in Love (formerly Writers, TBD 2013)
An acclaimed writer (Greg Kinear), his ex-wife (Jennifer Connelly), and their teenaged children (Lily Collins, Logan Lerman) who come to terms with the complexities of love in all its forms over the course of one tumultuous year.
08. Arthur Newman (TBD 2013)
The story of a man (Colin Firth) who fakes his own death and assumes a new identity in order to escape his life. He then moves in with a woman (Emily Blunt) who is also trying to leave her past behind.
09. You Are Here (TBD 2013)
A dark comedy focusing on childhood best friends played by Wilksboro, NC native Zach Galifianakis and Owen Wilson, who embark on a road trip back to their hometown after one of them learns he has inherited a large sum of money from his recently deceased estranged father. Amy Poehler will play the sister of Galifianakis’ character.
