Emma Roberts to Join ‘We’re the Millers’ in NC

Scream 4 star Emma Roberts could be joining Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, and Ed Helms in Wilmington, North Carolina this month for New Line’s We’re the Millers, which starts filming next week.

The comedy follows a veteran pot dealer (Sudeikis) who creates a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of marijuana into the U.S. from Mexico.

According to Variety, Emma Roberts (Scream 4) is in early talks to join the previously announced Jennifer Aniston (Friends, Horrible Bosses), Jason Sudeiks (Saturday Night Live), Ed Helms (The Hangover), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Will Poulter (Voyage of the Dawn Treader) and Kathryn Hahn (Anchorman) in New Line Cinema’s We’re the Millers.

Deadline further reports that Roberts will play Julia, a 20-year-old runaway with a dark side who pretends to be the daughter of Sudeikis’ and Aniston’s fake family

Rawson Marshall Thurber (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) is directing from a script by Wedding Crashers writers Steve Faber and Bob Fisher.

Production is set to begin in Wilmington, NC on July 23.

New Line previously filmed parts of this year’s Journey 2: The Mysterious Island at EUE/Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington in 2010 and 2011, as well as the upcoming thriller The Warren Files, which wrapped production in the area in May.
